SOCIAL MEDIA ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

The Primary Purpose of the Events Director is to own the strategy, planning, and execution of all organizational events, ensuring events reflect brand and hospitality standards while running on time, on budget, and with excellence.

Primary Purpose

Core Duties/Responsibilities (not limited to the following):

Content Creation + Management

  • Design and produce graphics, photos, and short-form video/reels for feed posts and Stories. 

  • Write captions that reflect the church's voice, values, and messaging for each platform. 

  • Plan and maintain a rolling content calendar covering all four Instagram accounts and Facebook, typically planned 3-4 weeks out. 

    • Align calendar with the church's sermon series, ministry programs, holidays, and special events. 

    • Flag content gaps or upcoming needs to the supervising staff member with enough lead time to gather assets. 

  • Schedule and publish content across all four Instagram accounts. 

    • Minimum posting frequency: 4-5 posts per week on the main {freedomhouse} account, and 3-4 posts per week on each campus account, prioritized within the weekly hour allotment. Additional posts, Stories, or Reels may be added as time allows. 

    • If total workload in a given week exceeds the hour cap, campus account minimums may flex downward first to keep the main account's minimum fully covered (see Account prioritization). 

Community Engagement

  • Monitor and respond to DMs and comments across all accounts within 24hrs. 

  • Create Facebook events for major special events. 

  • Set up and maintain ManyChat flows for automatic replies to designated code words. 

    • Test flows before launch and update them as campaigns or code words change. 

    • Monitor for broken flows or keyword conflicts and troubleshoot as needed.

Sermon Clip Production

  • Review sermon recordings and identify clip-worthy moments for social media. 

    • Cut, caption, and format clips for each platform's specs (e.g., vertical for Reels/Stories). 

    • Publish clips on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.

Advertising + Campaign Management

  • Create and manage paid social media campaigns, including boosted posts and targeted advertising initiatives.

  • Develop and select campaign creatives, audiences, and targeting strategies aligned with ministry objectives.

  • Monitor active campaigns to ensure appropriate pacing and performance.

  • Identify and flag underperforming campaigns, ads, or audiences for review and optimization.

  • Track advertising expenditures and ensure spending remains within approved budget parameters.

Analytics + Performance Management

  • Track engagement, follower growth, and reach across all platforms on a monthly basis. 

  • Analyze ad performance and spend for any paid/boosted campaigns. 

  • Deliver a summary report to leadership with key metrics and recommendations, on a regular cadence. 

Qualifications & Skills

Candidate should be personable and friendly, skilled with people, and lead with a passion for connecting people to their purpose. He/she should lead with compassion, enthusiasm, character and be able to competently assist with building and leading teams, encouraging team work.

Qualifications include:

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Social Media.

  • Ability to assist with leading others, building teams.

  • Build and maintain healthy relationships.

  • Takes initiative, is self-motivated, positive, possesses good work ethic, able to take direction from supervisors, enthusiastic, goal oriented.

  • Experience with FHConnect, PCO requested.

  • Prior experience in social media management and content creation.
