A Message from Ps. Troy

Hey Freedom House Family,

This is your Pastor, Troy Maxwell, coming to you with a heavy heart but a bold spirit in response to the brutal attack on our brother, Charlie Kirk.

Freedom House and the wider Body of Christ, hear me: a wicked, demonic act just went down in Utah. Charlie was shot in the neck by a cowardly assassin. Right now, it’s normal to feel a whirlwind of emotions—shock, fury, grief, even hate trying to creep in. That’s human.

But even in this dark, gut-wrenching moment, one truth still stands tall:

Jesus is the sovereign King over it all.

For centuries, men and women have laid it all on the line for the gospel. Some lived long, peaceful lives. Others burned bright and fast. But they made their mark while the light lasted.

Charlie has made his mark.

This world doesn’t promise us forever. What it does promise is this: if we love Jesus, we will be with Him when it’s over. And until that day comes, we will not back down when evil shows its face.

This isn’t just about the shooter. There’s a mirror here for the Church.

We’ve been far too quiet. Far too soft. For far too long.

Let’s honor the truth Charlie boldly spoke, and let’s make Jesus’ last command our first fire. Now is the time to speak up, lean in, and stand firm in the face of darkness.

This is our wake-up call.

No more silence.

No more sideline faith.

We are called to be salt and light—until our last breath.

I’m lifting up Charlie, his family, and his team in prayer. Freedom House stands rock-solid with his ministry and the truth he so fearlessly champions. We will not budge. Not an inch to the left or the right.

We will be strong. We will push forward. And yes, we will still bring comfort.

In moments like this, I run to the Word of God for strength and peace. This verse hit me deeply today:

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33 (NLT)

Men, join me this Saturday at 8:00 AM at the Central Campus as we lead the way with grit and godly strength in the face of this demonic attack.

Church, I love you all fiercely. I’m here for you as your Pastor.
