EVENTS DIRECTOR

Event Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and maintain an annual events calendar

  • Lead pre-production planning for major events (timelines, run-of-show, staffing plans)

  • Set event goals and success metrics in partnership with leadership

  • Anticipate scheduling conflicts and resource needs 60–90 days out

Team Leadership

  • Onboard, train, and manage event coordinators, volunteers, and contract labor as needed

  • Assign ownership of individual events to team members with clear accountability

  • Run pre- and post-event debriefs to capture lessons learned

  • Build and maintain event SOPs and onboarding materials for new team members

Cross-Team Coordination

  • Serve as primary liaison between the Events team and other departments (e.g., Marketing/Creative, Facilities, Operations)

  • Coordinate with venue staff and other stakeholders on logistics, scheduling, and local needs

  • Align event branding and communications with the broader organization

Look, Feel & Physical Environment

  • Own the visual presentation and atmosphere of event and gathering spaces (lobby decor, signage, staging, etc.)

  • Set and maintain design standards so spaces stay consistent with brand across all locations

  • Partner with Creative/Design teams on seasonal or campaign-specific decor and staging concepts

  • Walk spaces ahead of events to ensure look and feel meets standard before doors open

Budget & Vendor Management

  • Oversee the events budget line; track spend against projections

  • Source, negotiate, and manage vendor and contractor relationships

  • Approve purchase requests within budget authority; escalate overages

6. On-Site Execution

  • Oversee day-of logistics: setup, run-of-show, teardown

  • Serve as on-site point of contact for troubleshooting during events

  • Ensure safety, hospitality, and brand standards are met at every touchpoint

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide post-event reports (attendance, budget, what worked/what didn't)

  • Recommend process improvements and new tools/systems as the team scales

  • Report regularly to the Creative Director on event pipeline status

The Primary Purpose of the Events Director is to own the strategy, planning, and execution of all organizational events, ensuring events reflect brand and hospitality standards while running on time, on budget, and with excellence.

Qualifications & Skills

Candidate should be personable and friendly, skilled with people, and lead with a passion for connecting people to their purpose. He/she should lead with compassion, enthusiasm, character and be able to competently assist with building and leading teams, encouraging team work.

Qualifications include:

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Social Media.

  • Ability to assist with leading others, building teams.

  • Build and maintain healthy relationships.

  • Takes initiative, is self-motivated, positive, possesses good work ethic, able to take direction from supervisors, enthusiastic, goal oriented.

  • Experience with FHConnect, PCO requested.

  • Prior experience in event production or project management

  • Strong organizational and budget management skills

  • Comfortable leading teams and working across multiple locations

  • Flexible schedule, including evenings/weekends for events
